David Arquette Talks On Sacred Ground on Tom Needham’s SOUNDS OF FILM
ON SACRED GROUND is based on the true events during the 2016 construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline that runs through the Standing Rock Indian Reservation. The film follows DANIEL (William Mapother), a journalist and military veteran, and ELLIOT (David Arquette), an oil company executive, who find themselves on opposite sides of the fight during the construction of the contentious pipeline. As the story unfolds, the two characters go down separate paths during one of the most heated protests and confrontations with Native American tribes in modern US history.
ON SACRED GROUND is an ambitious, low-budget first time feature film from husband and wife environmental directors, Josh and Rebecca Tickell.
David Arquette has years of professional acting, directing and producing experience and has appeared in a multitude of films including the Scream Movies franchise (in which he reprised his iconic character Dewey Riley in the latest smash hit relaunch), HAMLET 2, THE GREY ZONE, STEALING SINATRA, NEVER BEEN KISSED, EIGHT LEGGED FREAKS, BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER, DREAM WITH THE FISHES, etc. David was featured as an arc opposite Jerry O’Connell in the series CARTER, as well as a role on CREEP SHOW for AMC and in David Ayer’s DEPUTY opposite Stephen Dorff for Fox. David was featured in the Sundance film MOPE opposite Nathan Stewart-Jarrett and Kelly Sry. He also stars in DR. BIRD’S ADVICE FOR SAD POETS with Lucas Jade Zumann, as well as back to back lead roles in a new Duplass Brothers Produced feature titled MISEDUCATION OF BINDU, MOBTOWN opposite Jennifer Esposito and PJ Byrne, BLACK JACK: THE JACKIE RYAN STORY, DOMINO: BATTLE OF THE BONES opposite Snoop Dogg, and GHOSTS OF THE OZARKS opposite Tim Blake Nelson.
David was also last seen in the thriller SPREE opposite Joe Keery from STRANGER THINGS, which premiered at Sundance in 2020, as well as Amazon’s HOT PINK, opposite Sarah Michelle Gellar.
David recently co-founded XTR, a new production studio, which premiered eight films at Sundance in 2021 and also produced the critically acclaimed feature documentary on himself called You Cannot Kill David Arquette.
